Firefly Blu Ray

Firefly - Season 1 [The Complete Series]

Firefly Blu Ray Release

Release date [US] November 11, 2008

Release date [UK] September 19, 2011

Release date [NL] November 2009

After Buffy and Angel Joss Whedon thought he'd have another hit in his hands with the SF/Western TV show Firefly. After 15 episodes [inc. feature length pilot] however, Firefly was cancelled by FOX. After it was cancelled it became insanely popular, it was to late for the TV show but luckily Joss Whedon got permission to create a feature with this crew : Serenity. Firefly has been released around the world on Blu Ray, exept in the UK, where it will be released this month for the first time.

Regarding the Blu-Ray itself, it is the same release as the US release, same special features. PQ is okay, of course not in the same league as the tv series nowadays.

Regarding the series itself, it is really exceptional, Firefly truly is a gem, one of my all time favourite tv series. I remember watching it for the first time back in 2002 and I have to admit, I liked it but I did not love it. That changed rapidly when I got my first copy on DVD. There is maybe one story which I did not love but only liked (The Message) but all other episodes were pure gold. The characters, the ensemble, the humor, it all gelled, it was perfect and till this day I still don't understand why it did not overshadowed Buffy!
