Series 5 will wrap up the arc, while creator Howard Overman focuses on his new BBC show Atlantis, which is aimed at the Merlin demographic.

Howard Overman’s outrageous superhero drama Misfits will return for series 5. E4 confirmed Misfits renewal at a press event, according to Digital Spy. No story details have been announced but we can probably assume that Rudy (Joe Gilgun), Jess (Karla Crome), Finn (Nathan McMullen), Abbey (Natasha O’Keeffe), and Alex (Matt Stokoe) will return for more probation worker-murder.

Release date [UK] December 26, 2012
Already it's 4th series of Misfits is going to be released. A series which had a lot of cast changes but with UK series this is fairly common, for example series like "Doctor Who", "Primeval" and "Being Human". After the first 2 series only Nathan [Robert Sheehan] left the series, which sucked, but after series 3 only Curtis [Nathan Stewart-Jarrett] is left from the original cast.
Series 1 & 2 were truly awesome, have to admit that I haven't seen series 3 & 4 but I certainly intend to. About the release itself, little is known about the special features at this point, it does have English subs though. It's a region B release.

Misfits creator Howard Overman has revealed on a Panel Borders podcast that that he is penning a film version of the show about super-powered community workers.
He even hinted that characters such as Simon and Alisha – who have left the show – could make a comeback. “I’ve written the first draft of the script and we’ll see what happens,” Overman said. “If it happens, it will involve past and present characters, I’m not allowed to give away anything more than that.”
However, he did go on to say that stuck in a time loop character Simon and Alisha (played by Iwan Rheon and Antonia Thomas) could potentially reappear. “Whether or not you’ve completely seen the end of Simon and Alisha, if our movie has its way, is another issue,” Overman cheekily added. Of course, it’s early days yet so there’s no guarantee we will ever see a big screen Misfits, but if it we’ll be very happy indeed.

The cast for series 4 is totally different from the cast you fell in love with, this is something that is not unfamilar for British television. But almost a whole cast is unusual even for a British series. There are a few examples like Primeval, which lost 3 cast members during it's first 3 series and of course Doctor Who has that same "probem". Somehow it seems to work. Below a few new pics with the new castmembers for series 4.

Back in November we told you that Chuck co-creator Josh Schwartz had finalized a deal for the rights to the U.K. series Misfits and was teaming with Misfits creator Howard Overman to write the pilot of a U.S. version. Though we haven’t heard any more about this since then, we have what may be even better news for fans, and fans-to-be, of the U.K. show. The original show is coming here to the U.S.
Logo has announced that it will be airing Season 1 of the show beginning July 19 at 10/9c, and will show all four seasons in the following months. Described below as “the mutant offspring of True Blood and X-Men,” Misfits not a show you’ll be watching with small children. Take the first line of the press release as a good indicator.

UK Series Misfits is since October 30th back on TV on E4. For whom this series is unfamiliar, it has SF, sex, humor, action.... and it is simply absurd at times, but of so funny and enjoyable. Damn shame one of the leadplayers, Nathan [Robert Sheehan] , left the show after 2 seasons, I must say, for me, he was the reason to watch every week so I can only hope his replacement Joseph Gilgun, as Rudy] won't be a dissappointment. Seasons 1 & 2 however, are highly recommended. Season 3 contains 8 episodes, first one was last sunday October 30th.
