There are a lot of TV shows which have been released in North America but not in Europe or other parts of the world. Because the releases from North America are region 1, Europe and other parts in the world cannot play these on their standard DVD players. Also the case with the tv show Space : Above and Beyond, [In Germany released as Space 2063] released in 2005 in North America and till not so long ago nowhere else released. Until last year, because this show now also is for sale in Germany.
The price is pretty high and you have to purchase the pilot and the series itself seperate but if you really want this one, now is your chance. It's been released with a German and English soundtrack although it's not clear to me yet if there subtitles on it. In any case the North American release has English subtitles and is better priced but of course is region 1.
Update: It's about time but finally Space; Above and Beyond is released also in the UK! The release date was April 30th 2012, the pilot is a seperate release from the rest of the series, but the pilot is also on the season boxset! So you don't need to buy the seperate pilot in order to have the complete series. It's not yet clear if there are subtitles on it, but since it's released by MediumRare, probably not, same as Dark Skies The Complete Series last year.

In an era when there were a lot of SF shows on tv, there was also this show, realistic SF, a bit the Battlestar Galactica of the nineties. Dark stories, complex characters. Pity it only lasted one season of 24 episodes and the last episode ended with a huge cliff-hanger. Still it remains of the best SF shows out there. It's never been released on DVD in the UK.
In the years leading up to 2063, humanity has begun to colonize other planets. Without warning, a previously unknown alien species, the "Chigs", attack and destroy Earth's first extra-solar colony and then destroy a second colony ship. The bulk of the Earth military forces sent to confront the Chigs are destroyed or outflanked. In desperation, unproven and under-trained outfits like the 58th "Wildcards" are thrown against the Chigs.
The Wildcards are the central focus of the series, which follows them as they grow from untried cadets into veterans.
