Star Trek - Enterprise: Season 4 [Blu-ray]

Release date [UK] April 14, 2014

Announced in the US in January already with a release date April 1st. Last week it was announced that the release was pushed back to April 29th. Today, via TrekCore, I learned the UK release is April 14th, some two weeks before the US release and this while UK release of season 3 was three weeks after the US release of the third season

In any case the fourth and final season of Star Trek: Enterprise is almost there, I think PQ wise it will be the best one, the season also was one of my favourites of all Star Trek seasons. The series finale was a bad choice, I liked the episode itself but I hated the fact it was the series finale, big mistake of course.

Here you can read the season 4 breakdown, see what is on which disc etc and you can also watch the season 4 Blu-Ray trailer from there.

Bonus feature maestros Roger Lay, Jr. and Robert Meyer Burnett have certainly pushed the envelope with the new content on offer with this set. The four-part documentary promises to bring the series of documentaries to a nice conclusion with a candid, sincere look at the show's premature cancellation and what could have been with Season 5.

Fans of the writers reunion included on Star Trek: The Next Generation's third season Blu-ray release will be thrilled to discover that a similar-styled feature has been recorded for Enterprise's final season. The gloves are off in Enterprise's writers reunion - especially as Brannon Braga turned up slightly late, allowing the other writers to let rip with a series of hilarious tongue-in-cheek insults!

Really can't wait to see the final two seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise on Blu-Ray. I'm gonna cherish every episode, gonna watch them just one episode per week, just to prolong the pleasure! Star Trek Enterprise: Season 1-4 [Blu-ray]

Release date [US/Canada] April 29, 2013

Few days ago the fourth season already was announced for the US (not yet for Canada). The third season has yet still to be released, this will happen in two weeks in North America but the fourth and last already has been announced there. Now it's also possible to pre-order the complete series which will be released on the same day as the fourth season. It will cost you approximately $64 per season. Unfortunately the rest of the world has to wait a little while longer probably to get the fourth season and the complete series.

If you are considering to purchase the complete series at amazon.com, please use this linkit will help TrekCore and it's no extra cost for you. If you want to check out all four blu-ray trailers, please click here!

Star Trek Enterprise - Complete Fourth Season [Blu-ray]

Release date [US/Canada] April 29, 2014

Well if it's not an April Fool's joke the fourth season of Star Trek: Enterprise will be released hot on the heels of the third season which will be released January 7, 2014 in North America. It's less than three months between those releases but you won't hear me complaining about it! For me seasons 3 & 4 are definately my favourites, I think this is the case for most of you also. I loved the two-part and three-part stories in the fourth season. In the UK and other countries the release date will probably a bit later because the third season is also later in those countries but the same time between those releases will probably be the case in other countries too. As soon as I have more release dates you can read it here.

I read on TrekCore there will be roundtable special feature as we've seen with the cast of Enterprise on season two release and also on the The Next Generation releases, and it will be with the writers. Although apparently Manny Coto won't be joining them unfortunately. as soon as I have more info you can read it here.

Update: release date changed to April 29, 2014

Well we have to wait a few more weeks in North America, a bit longer in the UK and other countries, February in the Netherlands, but now you can read the breakdown of season 3.

Season 3 is absolutely my favourite season, 24 episodes linked to each other, one big fat arc, Archer who changes a lot over the course of this season, fantastic episodes. I for one can't wait for it's release. (Click here if you want to watch the Enterprise Season 3 Trailer)

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 3 Blu-Ray New Art Work!

Last month the season 3 release date & blu-ray cover were announced for Star Trek: Enterprise. Till this moment the release is only announced for North America, January 7, 2014 and the Benelux, February 19, 2014.

There was some confusion surrounding the season 3 cover art because it's initial cover was a mash up of the first two seasons! As you can see on the left below, the initial cover art, T'Pol for instance, wears the outfit she wore in the first two seasons. Captain Archer smiles a bit into the camera, typical for the first two seasons, plus his hair is also very neat, what we've seen also in the first two seasons. CBS now has released the definative blu-ray cover art and thankfully they changed those important details, see cover art on the right. Click on both pictures to enlarge.

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 3 [Blu-Ray]

Release date [UK] January 2014

Release date [US/Canada] January 2014

Release date [BNL] February 19, 2014

I've been anticipating this release since the season 2 release back in August. I expected a January/February release this is indeed the timeframe. Season 3 is by far my favorite season, for me it had everything, a huge overarc-ing story, darkness, good stories and characters whom have to adjust to a worsening situation.

On the left you see the first look of the season 3 cover, this probably will change a bit. It's a bit strange because the cover is composed of season 1 material. If you are interested in the season 3 blu-ray trailer you can watch it here.

Star Trek - Enterprise: Bonus Content

A little over two months before we see the release of Star Trek: Enterprise's second season on Blu-Ray. I myself I am quite looking forward to it, make sure I finish the first season before that time. Below you can see the bonus content for the second season.

A centerpiece to the STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE — THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON BLU-RAYcollection is the newly produced cast reunion feature, “In Conversation: The First Crew,” which offers fans a look at an intimate and candid discussion with members of the main cast and recurring guest stars, who reveal their most memorable stories from the set and their favorite behind-the-scenes moments. The reunion is moderated by series co-creator/executive producer Brannon Braga.

Fans will also enjoy “Uncharted Territory,” a three-part retrospective providing an inside look at the challenges faced by the writing staff and creators during the creative development of the second season, which ultimately inspired the controversial Xindi story-arc that kicks off in the season finale, “The Expanse.” In addition, a collection of newly produced commentaries by cast and crew including John Billingsley (“Phlox”), writer/co-executive producer Chris Black and Mike & Denise Okuda, among others, all make STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE — THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON a must-own for fans.

Star Trek - Enterprise: Season 2 on Blu-Ray Final Cover Art Revealed!

The cover art you see below post was provisional and today CBS revealed the final cover art for Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2. I personally think it's a step up from the first season and the provisional season 2 cover art. You know see the cast upclose and also see the Enterprise in orbit of a planet

Star Trek - Enterprise: Season 2 [Blu-ray]

Release date [UK] August 19, 2013

Release date [US] August 20, 2013

Release date [AUS] August 21, 2013

Via the TrekCore site I stumble upon the fact that the release date for the season 2 of Enterprise is scheduled for  August 19. A bit earlier than expected. No date yet confirmed for North America but I imagine It won't be far of the release date of the UK.

What surprising is the price for you can pre-order season 2 on Amazon.co.uk! At the moment you can pre-order it for only 24.95 Pounds! So if you want it now is the time to pre-order it! Don't know how long this is gonna last.

Update: The bargain price has been removed as of today. Not sure if the already placed orders will be cancelled by amazon.co.uk, don't think so though, I personally think those pre-orders will be honoured.

Enterprise Cast Reunion for Season 2 Blu-rays filming today!

TrekCore can reveal that the entire principal cast of Star Trek: Enterprise have reunited today to film a special cast reunion piece for the upcoming Season 2 release of the show on Blu-ray.Scott Bakula (Archer), Jolene Blalock (T'Pol), Connor Trinneer (Trip), Dominic Keating(Malcolm), John Billingsley (Phlox), Anthony Montgomery (Travis) & Linda Park (Hoshi) were all present along with the show's co-creator Brannon Braga.

The reunion follows a similar format to the massively popular TNG Cast Reunion which was included on the second season Blu-ray release of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Securing the schedules of all principal actors is a daunting feat to say the least, so it's to the credit of Roger Lay, Jr., Robert Meyer Burnett and CBS that they've pulled something this spectacular off yet again!

UPDATE: We can now reveal that the reunion was completed with a special surprise guest. Actor Jeffrey Combs who played Shran in the series surprised the cast with an unannounced appearance! We can't wait to see the results in what is sure to be a thrilling addition to the next Enterprise Blu-ray set!

Stay tuned as we'll bring you all the latest news on the release of Season 2 of Star Trek: Enterprise on Blu-ray as we get it!

Enterprise Season 2 Blu-Rays Cover Art Revealed!

As Enterprise prepares to launch from drydock with the release of Star Trek: Enterprise - Season 1 on Blu-Ray in a couple of weeks, we've got an exclusive look at the cover art for the second season set which will hit shelves later this year. The artwork is shown in a brand new trailer promoting the second season which will be included on Disc 1 of Season 1 along with the trailer for TNG's "The Best of Both Worlds".

Season 2 carries on with the same background motif used in the first season set, this time in blue. All seven primary cast are shown in a publicity shot taken for the show's first season. You can view a larger version by clicking on the art. (Artwork is subject to change)

Enterprise Blu-Ray Pre-order!

It won't take long anymore, you can pre-order Star Trek Enterprise Season 1 in Germany and the US already. The release date in the US is March 26 and in Germany March 28. The price though is very steep!

Would have expected it a bit lower since it is assumed that it's less work to transfer Enterprise to Blu-Ray than for TNG. In the US you can pre-order it at the moment for $77.99, in Germany it's 69,99 euro's. I think the price will have to drop for a lot of Star Trek fans to purchase this series for this price.

First Details Enterprise S1 Blu-Ray Bonus Features + Rumoured Release Date!

CBS is well underway prepping the high-definition launch ofStar Trek: Enterprise on Blu-Ray. As we previously reported,Enterprise was the only Star Trek series to be filmed natively at high-definition 1080p resolution (although FX shots were rendered at 720p), so CBS has a far easier job putting the show out on Blu-Ray in comparison to the monumental remastering of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

A number of sources have informed TrekCore that Season 1of Enterprise should be released in mid-late March 2013. Whilst the show was by no means as popular as The Next Generation, CBS have decided to comission another slew of brand-new bonus features to accompany the episodes on the Blu-Ray release. VAM [Value Added Material] Maestros Roger Lay Jr. and Robert Meyer Burnett - responsible for the great work on the TNG Blu-Ray special features - have been brought on board to give fans a candid, honest look at the show's troubled inception. Here's what we know so far about the Season 1 bonus features:

  • The Season 1 set will boast a brand new 3-part documentary (similar to TNG Season 1's "Stardate Revisited") which we've been told is both epic, compelling and incredibly candid.

  • The Season 1 set will include a number of new audio commentaries (expected around 4 episodes to feature commentaries). Furthermore, the show's Executive Producer Brannon Braga has revealed that Season 1's fan-favorite episode "Shuttlepod One" will feature a commentary with Brannon, Connor Trinneer (Trip Tucker) and Dominic Keating (Malcolm Reed). This is very exciting news, hearing of a commentary featuring the two stars of that particular episode along with the episode's writer and producer.

  • The Season 1 set includes an unprecedented special discussion piece between executive producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. The lengthy piece, entitled "In Conversation" is described as refreshingly candid and "will be watched by the fanbase for years to come" according to Robert Meyer Burnett.

Star Trek: Enterprise - Blu-Ray Plans for 2013!

Mike Sussman tweeted confirming that Star Trek: Enterprise is coming to Blu-ray Disc in 2013:

Trippin' down memory lane: just wrapped up an interview for the @StarTrek Enterprise season 1 Blu-Ray set coming next year. #itsabouttime

Enterprise was shot with high-def media from the start, and has always been ready to transfer to Blu-ray at the drop of a hat, without the need for remastering. Mr. Sussman's latest Twitter post on the topic says that the hat has finally dropped. Even if CBS/Paramount execs are still beating around the bush, it truly can't get any clearer than that. Stay tuned, of course, and we'll bring you additional info as further developments occur. Our thanks again to reader Adam Walker for tipping us off about this info. It's been a long road, but fans with faith of the heart will find that their time is finally here in 2013!

Star Trek: The Next Generation : Encouraging Initial Blu-Ray Sales Figures. A step closer to HD for DS9, VOY and ENT!

Aug 8, 2012: Initial TNG S1 Blu-Ray Sales Figures Are VERY Encouraging!
Box Office Data site The-Numbers.com has published some initial sales figures for the release of Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1 on Blu-Ray. According to their estimates, the set sold a massive 95,435 copies in the first 5 days after release - and those figures are just for the U.S. market. These figures would seem indicate an initial income of well over $5.5m, a large chunk of the $9m which CBS invested in the first season remastering process.

Fans (and indeed the writing staff and stars) of Star Trek: The Next Generation often state that the show didn't 'find it's feet' until the third season, and so there was some concern that the first season would not sell as well due to many fans having a luke-warm attitude to it. These sales figures, thankfully, seem to contradict that prediction and are incredibly encouraging. CBS has been saying for a while now that the possibility of future Trek HD remasterings would be dictated by how strongly fans received the TNG sets and how many units they were able to sell... hopefully these numbers bring us all one step closer to HD transfers for Deep Space Nine and Voyager!

Captain Archer

July 31, 2012

Scott Bakula really, really wants a role in Abrams' Trek films

Though J.J. Abrams connected his Star Trek reboot to the world of the original series with some awesome cameos by Leonard Nimoy, there hasn't been much buzz about other Trek stars popping up. But the star of the final series to grace the small screen wants in the next time around. Like Robert Picardo from Voyager, Scott Bakula, who played Capt. Jonathan Archer on UPN's Enterprise in the early 2000s, told ComingSoon.net that he's just waiting by the phone:

"I love the new film! Are you kidding? They just have to ask. They have my number. I fax it regularly over to his (J.J. Abrams') office. Is that wrong? Is that pandering? In uniform. Maybe that's too much.

Of any character from the Trek series, Bakula would be the easiest fit—as he (and his adorable puppy) is directly referenced in a brief nod in Abrams' 2009 Star Trek. So, J.J., give him a call! What do you think? Are you hoping Bakula will pop up at some point, accompanied with some lens flare?
